Another Week

September 28th, 2009

It not being tourist season here in Acapulco has really hurt the ability to spange from tourists. I was suppose to have received my deposit from Idaho this week but after going to the consulate and calling them I find out the money will not go through till next thursday. So another week here sleeping on the beach getting screwed with by the police every night. The good thing is I don`t have any money for them to take. So it is kind of comical watching them search my stuff looking for money, when there is none. I was able to sell a little flashlight I have for 50 pesos. Which 20 of it went into getting on here and 13 for a 5 liter jug of water. So it returns me to asking if anyone that reads this blog has the ability to paypal us a few bucks. If anyone does just leave a comment in the donation that you would like the money paid back, and I will resend on paypal once my unemployment finally gets on. As it goes $100 would last me here like 10 days. Most meals cost about $30 pesos and there is approx. $13 pesos in a dollar right now. I have dog food for Manny that was kicked down by a local OXXO convienence store. Any help would be greatly appreciated at this time. Im gonna try and get in contact with the American Legion here and see if they know of any work for food type things that might be around until the end of next week. I will be going to the consulate again on Monday to see the guy there. I can make emergency phone calls from there for free between 10am and 2pm Central time. Write again soon if I can. Thanks in advance for anyone that may donate. Peace

Mazatlan beaches

September 28th, 2009

So we hung out in Nogales on the US side for a day working up some extra cash for the trip. One thing we grossly underestimated was the cost of gas down here. We had no problems crossing the border and the first few checkpoints without passports. We took highway 15 south towards Los Mochis, when about 25 miles north of Los Mochis we hit a Federal checkpoint. They told us without a travel permit to return to Nogales and obtain one or pay $3,000 pesos about $250 USD to continue. We had already ran out of gas money so we took a route through AgioBampo on a beach road where we got stuck in mud many times taking a day and a half to go about 15 miles around the Federal checkpoint. Come to find out, the guy that works at that checkpoint takes an hour off each day between 6am and 7am. So if your coming this way with no passport wait till 6am to go through the Fed check point north of Los Mochis. By the way, the reason we came with no passports is because it takes so long to get them in the states. Once we arrive in Oaxaca we can goto the Consulate and get one in a week! So we are now clear of all the checkpoints and have been camping out on the beach in southern Mazatlan. We plan on staying here a few days to spange/panhandle enough money to get to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. At the moment its costing about $500($40 USD) pesos per tank of gas, and we need about 4 or 5 more to get to our final destination. I’ll be uploading some pictures and such when we get to Oaxaca. We’ll be selling the truck there and getting a 3 bedroom apartment. My unemployment kicks in next week so I’ll have plenty of cash to fund getting a online store setup to sell local crafts on the net. Wish us luck and will chat with you all soon. ooohh yeah I have a skype voice mail at 504,322,3559.

The Way To Mexico

September 28th, 2009

I left Priest Lake on Saturday morning the 1st of August. Work had really slowed down there and after a 2 week trip to New Mexico for the national rainbow gathering I became sad and lonely for the road. I hitched out of Spokane to meet up with a friend from the road near Seattle Washington. We spent a few days there working for a contractor for some extra cash. After leaving Seattle my we drove in my buds truck down to Portland Oregon to pick up his girlfriend. Had a break down there that cost about $700 to fix the clutch and tranny. Soon as that was fixed we headed down to Reno NV where my friend got arrested for driving without a license. The state of Nevada has very heft fines for this. His girlfriend and I spent a couple days in Lake Tahoe to get the $1,835 required to get him out of jail and then continued down the road. On the way out of Reno my laptop finally shit the bed after a lot of abuse! So I’m currently sitting at a library in Flagstaff Arizona. I’ll be purchasing a new laptop here as soon as I can. I miss writing in this blog so its going to be fun to show you and talk about all the things I’ll be seeing and doing in the next few years. Take care all and its good to be back!!!

Priest Lake

September 28th, 2009

I’ll be staying right on Priest Lake helping build this new development. There are 3 other workers that stay here during the week but I’m the only one out here on the weekends. The building we stay in use to be a hotel/restaurant. I’ll take a video of the area tomorrow while its daylight to show you basically what its like here. Very nice people out here and I’m enjoying doing some construction work again. After this I’ll more than likely be heading down to Mexico with the electrician guy that works out here. I’ll upload a video some time tomorrow to show you all how beautiful this lake is. Laters..
