I left Priest Lake on Saturday morning the 1st of August. Work had really slowed down there and after a 2 week trip to New Mexico for the national rainbow gathering I became sad and lonely for the road. I hitched out of Spokane to meet up with a friend from the road near Seattle Washington. We spent a few days there working for a contractor for some extra cash. After leaving Seattle my we drove in my buds truck down to Portland Oregon to pick up his girlfriend. Had a break down there that cost about $700 to fix the clutch and tranny. Soon as that was fixed we headed down to Reno NV where my friend got arrested for driving without a license. The state of Nevada has very heft fines for this. His girlfriend and I spent a couple days in Lake Tahoe to get the $1,835 required to get him out of jail and then continued down the road. On the way out of Reno my laptop finally shit the bed after a lot of abuse! So I’m currently sitting at a library in Flagstaff Arizona. I’ll be purchasing a new laptop here as soon as I can. I miss writing in this blog so its going to be fun to show you and talk about all the things I’ll be seeing and doing in the next few years. Take care all and its good to be back!!!

As it went before, I was on Wild Blue Sat internet. On their business plan they only offer 17gigs/month down transfer. Once that limit was reached they basically took us down to less than dialup speeds for over usage! Wi th that I was not even able to check email from my own server, let alone watch any kind of internet porn(j/k). So out here in the middle of nowhere I was limited to physical labor, eating, or making large fires to entertain myself.

Entertaining myself will be held to that term for family reasons! But what happened about a week and a half ago is exciting for any warm blooded male! We happened to be shoveling dirt this day, an average day in the middle of the week on a new construction site. While in the middle of a dirt stroke and toss, the mail lady pulled up. She mentioned “The Granite Creek Marina is on fire”! We all looked in that direction but didn’t see any smoke. Our boss Dan said “We help out in areas like this with fires”. Excited at the aspect of doing anything besides shoveling dirt we all jumped in Lance’s(a coworker) truck and headed towards the alleged fire. As we drove towards that area I didn’t notice any smoke. I thought to myself “If there is a fire it should have smoke”. We buzzed the mile or so distance between our work place and the fire quickly(Lance likes to drive like he is going to a fire all the time). When we arrived on site a entire building was up in flames. Burning so hot and dry that there was no smoke. It was the oddest thing I have seen in a long time! Our boss first asked a local spectator if we could be of any assistance. The local replied “They won’t allow any help”. We stood glancing at the blaze for a few seconds before our boss asked a fire fighting looking guy if we could help. The firefighter yelled “WE HAVE 4 VOLUNTEERS HERE”! We all jumped into action like it was our own place burning. The house was completely in flames, but behind the house was a garage structure that was just starting to catch fire. Lance, Jayson, Dan, Roger, and I took it upon ourselves without communication to save the contents of the garage. It was an impressive and very hot situation. The entire house was engulfed in flames and the garage section was dry rough style cut timber already on fire in parts. We came through the back side of the garage and started pulling out anything that looked of value as the heat increased. A canoe, kayak, gas tanks, v-bottom boat, personal affects. When we noticed a couple propane tanks. These tanks already next to a burning tire and hot flames. Jayson and Lance had no fear of death when they went in and pulled those tanks out!. My eyes grew “ooouuuge or huge” as this happened cuz once I spotted those tanks I thought about a huge explosion! I’ll have to expand this into another blog entry!! hehe

I’ll be staying right on Priest Lake helping build this new development. There are 3 other workers that stay here during the week but I’m the only one out here on the weekends. The building we stay in use to be a hotel/restaurant. I’ll take a video of the area tomorrow while its daylight to show you basically what its like here. Very nice people out here and I’m enjoying doing some construction work again. After this I’ll more than likely be heading down to Mexico with the electrician guy that works out here. I’ll upload a video some time tomorrow to show you all how beautiful this lake is. Laters..
